The Media Pack XL is listed underpacks not equipment on the build your
Mini configurator.
I am using the UK configurator thing called "Design your Mini", and under the "packs" options there are :MEDIA (not XL)
Mini off white interior
CHILI
Mini dark cottonwood interior
PEPPER
Park assistant pack

so MEDIA XL is not listed as a pack, nor in the "equipment" list.

My sales person did not mention it either, which I find rather odd.

I think I will give them a call!

Media pack is media navigation and connected XL

As long as you order the pack there should be no worries

Further there is a nav stand alone at £595 but that is a 6.5 inch screen and I think you don't get the extras as you do with the XL version of the pack - so the nav remains a basic version of the pack XL version

It's a little complicated but I'm sure someone in the know can elaborate further

All well & good but the setting up of the media devices i.e. Nav,Radio,Phone etc.. is **** complicated without a decent Guide of some sort.Has anybody out there managed to download or print from a Mini website ? Thought I'd sorted out the phone connection but now my phone demands a "passcode"Thought I'd cracked the SatNav but I can't manage to find the "Saved" Home destination that the Dealer kindly set up for me.There almost needs to be a Help Centre or am I just too old.As ever with I.T.it'll be fantastic when it's all working correctly.Or maybe there should be an "F56 for dummies" book.Either way HELP !

I think you are right.

I am going in to MrM tomorrow to sort out my configuration now I am a bit better informed of what is actually available.

Thanks for your help and information, anyway!
It annoys me how it's worded differently in Oz. Here you get Mini Connected as standard in the Chili Pack. This is the 6.5 inch screen with extended bluetooth/ usb.
Then you choose the Wired Pack to get 3d maps and larger screen.

If you have the Chili pack, I would imagine in other countries you will have the standard nav screen. Am I correct in saying that? :|

Sadly not... in the UK the Chili pack doesn't give you the screen. You have to select Visual Boost Radio to get the 6.5" screen and then mini connected is free, but mini navigation is extra.

Then Media Pack XL is the only way to get the 8" screen, but it comes with connected XL and navigation XL (and other stuff).

I gave up trying to find out the difference between navigaiton and navigation XL and went with the media pack.

The default passcode for most phones is 0000

try that and see if it works

I still dont see the Media XL pack as on option on the on-line "build your Mini" screen.

Maybe it is no longer an option over here (UK)! Just joking.

I have ordered my Cooper and would have considered the Media XL pack if I had known about it at the time.
I just looked on Mini UK and the media pack XL is available for all models......not sure why it's not showing up for you.

Also thanks Andy, when I configured my Mini the Media XL pack was not specified in the packs option list, but I went back to my dealer the next day and it was specified on the dealers list, so I managed to get it added OK. This was early April if I remember correctly.

Since then the potential owners pack option list has been updated on the home user configurator, so the confusion should be gone.

Shock Horror
Although the connection failed on numerous occasions eventually ,& after using the 0000 passcode, the mobile connection decided to function so I'm now OK on the Phone front.
In fact the Sat Nav operation also seems much simpler so obviously it's really a question of
trial & error. Not perfect but hey when it works it's fantastic. When it fails it's despair time.
Next stop is more media & quite why I can't seem to get more DAB radion stations. There's so much technology in the F56 that I'm thinking of moving out of my cottage into the car.
But thanks again for the help.
