Hi.
I've been seeing a few OEM sat navs on Ebay claiming to be plug and play. Does anyone know if this is right? If I want the Visual Boost with sat nav can I just buy one off ebay and swap the units out? Would I lose my Bluetooth and parking sensor display?

cheers,
Mark

They are definitely not plug and play. They are serialized and have to be coded to work with a specific VIN and as far as I know, there is not a way to "recode" a headunit to a different car. You have to get a blank, never activated headunit to work (read: new headunit from BMW).

If you're just trying to upgrade your Visual Boost to the Nav unit, it will take more than just a headunit swap anyway as GPS has to be wired in and the harnesses are different. It's not impossible, but definitely not a "plug and play" thing, even if you're going from nav to nav.

Shame. OK thanks I feared it was not as simple as it seemed.
