Is this gas mileage normal for someone with a lead foot?

Hey everyone,

I got my new Cooper S a few weeks ago, and am still breaking it in. I have a lead foot, and have been getting those revs up to about 4k - 4500 after the engines warmed up. The onboard computer says that my MPG is 17.6MPG. I'm wondering if this is normal for an engine that is still breaking in, and someone with a lead foot like me? :p

So far, I've only driven in Mid mode as well.

Thanks!

I consistently drive my MCS like it's stolen. shift around 5500 RPM. Traded in my 06' M6 for my MCS. V10 for 7 mile commute....ridiculous. MPG for me has been around 22 to 23MPG. I also have a VIP air intake, and a BMS B48 Stage 1 chip installed.

Your reduced MPG may also be attributed to poor quality gas. I prefer Shell, and settle for Chevron when I have to.
