Hi , happy to join this forum .I recently upgraded the standard exhaust on my Cooper S -2 door to JCW exhaust at an authorised service center in india. The fitment was complete along with necessary software upgrades. Ever since, while driving in slow speed/stop go traffic, the auto transmission keeps kicking down quite often at around 1500rpm / 20-25kmph, causing frequent engine braking & making it very annoying to drive. I have never felt this way with the standard exhaust. The down shift and relative engine braking at 1500rpm
is very much pronounced . Is this normal ? The service centre did a test drive and said this is normal. I am not convinced with their diagnosis. I have been driving the standard Cooper s for the past 3 years and have always found the gear shift in slow speed to be silky smooth. Now that the upgrade is done, not sure whether this is the case for all JCW s . Has the JCW upgrade changed the gear ratios ?? Or shud I reload the software? Can someone help?
