Hello, Everyone :)

I have been reading posts avidly to guide my final decisions, and I finally placed my order! I stunned myself by switching color/wheels and a few others at the last minute. Here is what I settled on--to my surprise!

  • 5-door automatic hardtop, 2016
  • moonwalk gray, black top/mirrors; roulette wheels
  • mini yours lounge leather seats, black
  • anthracite headliner/cottonwood/satellite grey color line
    cold weather pack/premium pack/wired XL

Now I am anxiously awaiting my order number so I can join the Lounge and torment myself further while I wait--90 days

One advantage in (a) being 150 miles from the factory and (b) having desperate dealers trying to hit year end targets is that they had build slots in the factory plan and no customers.

So my order placed a week ago today on a too-cheap-to-be-real deal will be delivered before the end of November...

Hello goodbygirl,
Greetings from Santa Monica, I've been lurking for about a month to learn about Minis. No fair... you did what I want to do! :)

I want to replace my leased 2013 VW with a Mini Cooper S. I was thinking of the 2 Door Hardtop in automatic but think that a 4 Door (5 Door) might be better with its additional room. And normally i would select White to be cool and practical but now, I'm thinking of Moonwalk Gray. Too bad there's no local Mini Dealer in Santa Monica. When you order a Mini are the dealers a little flexible on the price?

Cheers, Richard...

P.S. That must be an Airdale or? We had the most wonderful Airdale while I was growing up, over 70 years ago! :)

Hi Richard,

He's an Irish Terrier, but often confused with an Airedale :) I think I pondered, and was definite for a few days-- every color---BRG, but didn't care for it it person. Iced chocolate--really beautiful, but very dark. The dealer in Valencia had the moonwalk grey with the roulette wheels, and I was just won over. The color is not dark, but not light either. Perfect blend of light and dark, kind of like a black and white photo.

The dealer did give a discount even though I ordered, but they were not up for hard-core wheeling/dealing. I also got a bulldog and black jack valve caps :). I am really happy with the dealership.

My advice--go for it!

Hi Goodbyegirl,
You did just fine. Moonwalk gray can't be beat and you'll soon see when the compliments start rolling in when people see it. I have Moonwalk with black roof, mirrors and wheels and people love it. I like it more every day and it was a last minute color choice for me as well. Great move, show us the pics when you have them.Good luck!
