LED Daytime Running Light/Fog Light

These only apply to R56-61 (ie, second generation) Minis, not F56 (ie, third generation) Mini. The F56 has different sized fog/lower lights, so the LEDs won't fit.

Mini have just released the LED DRL/Fog lamp version for the F56 last week, my set arrived today from the dealer - the only issue is the car requires coding once they are fitted.

F56 DLRs have been released and the price is for 3rd generation MINI.

What do you think of the lights? Yes, it needs coading after fitting which takes around 1 hour.

Would you be able to share some pics one fitted please.

£375 is a good price fitted and coded, the dealer was quoting me £600 just for the fitting and coding! 1 hour for fit and one hour for coding

I paid £286 for the set - my plan is to fit and code them myself. I'll share pics of the install.

Are we certain that these are for the f56?

Seems strange to offer these when cars already have lights that fulfil this purpose.

I know I have better things to spend hundreds of pounds on.

So assuming one has a F55/F56 and has NOT ordered the LED headlights, do the cars come with DRLs in the fog light position? If so then these £375 LED fog light replacements are purely a cosmetic thing?

Yes they come with the DRL in the fog light position so this is purely to upgrade it to a better LED light

Is this basically a way of upgrading to the led headlights for those who didn't spec it, or is this a new design entirely?

Not the headlamps but the lamps in the lower part of the bumper. My MCS came with halogen headlamps and fog/DRLs

And to clarify the LED design is different than the halogen version. The daytime running light in halogen lamp is a dull orange spot where as the LED version is a bright white ring.

The advert for these is very deceptive as it looks like it's advertising the LED headlights! I have found breakers selling LED headlights for the F55/6 on Ebay but not sure if they can be fitted to Minis specced with the standard halogen lights.

I'm sure it's possible to fit the LED headlamps with a mod to the wiring to get the DRL feed to the headlamp and a bit of coding. It's on my list to try and do.

The part number for this F55/F56 set is 63122361243 and it only valid for cars fitted with SA520

I have them on my Mini Cooper s f56 for free

If these are F56-sized versions of the R56 LED DRL/side/fogs, then it is misleading that Mini are advertising them with a photo of a LED-headlight F56 with the DRL/Side/foglights cropped off.

I'm sure they are not intentionally trying to mislead people into thinking these are a retrofit of the horseshoe LED DRLs on LED-equipped cars, but it's not far off..........
