Did a daft thing and got satellite lounge leather in very pale grey
Looks fantastic in the showroom :)
Car looked too dark in black,
Only 2k in and I'm beginning to have second thoughts:(

Any products to help it keeping looking clean

Tried Zymol so far, think it's ok for general wipe over, but not sure it's man enough to tackle stubborn marks

Ordered this for ours, not arrived yet. definately going to try to keep regular tabs on it with a cleaner!

I have the lounge leather in gray too, and picked up Meguier's leather cleaner and conditioner. I've had good luck with all their products in the past. Haven't had a chance to use it on my car yet, but will next weekend.

I'll let you know how it performs.

Hi all,

I just picked up my new F55 with Satellite Grey leather today and am looking to protect the seats without making them 'plastic-y'. Any comments to make about products tried?

thanks,
ljmiii

I've used the Meguire's several times on the front seats and was completely pleased. Removed the surface dirt and left the leather surface exactly like it was when it was new. No sheen, no gloss, no coating, no nothing.

I have been using the towels I bought to cover the seats if I drive when my dirty jeans after a day at the trap range.

It's weird, I have Satellite Grey leather and it seems to get much more dirty than any other car I've had with pale leather. I haven't worked out why yet. I have a particular pair of jeans (my favourite ones of course!) which I won't wear in my MINI any more as they turn the seat blue even when I haven't been out in the rain. These jeans didn't do this on my last car which had beige leather, those seats stayed perfectly clean :|

this is exactly our experience, they need cleaning more than once a week - complete nightmare. Tried scotchguard but seemed to make it even worse! they can get serious dye transfer in just one journey! No such issues on our cream sofas or previous 5 series leather.

They grey leather is very beutiful and would have been my choice if I had not seen the extreme blue coloring on the seats at the dealer showroom.

I would go for some proven leather maintenance product "system" that has both a proactive protection solution and a good cleaning solution. Where to find this? Go to an expensive furniture store and ask what they recommend for white leather sofas.

Best of luck!

I have the satellite grey with fabric seats. I used the Auto Glym leather cleaner and then conditioner when I first got my MINI. I use them whenever the seats go from light grey to a dark grey. It seems to restore them very nicely every time without leaving a shine on the leather. Very happy with the products and they make the car smell nice too.

Also a small shop towel over the butt portion of the seat goes a long way when you wear your new jeans before a wash.
