Looks like Mini Australia is slashing prices for the F56 Launch, meaning you can hop into a new F56 for less than you could an R56.

MINI Cooper – $26,650 (savings of $5000)
(1.5 litre 3-cyl petrol engine, 100kW/220Nm, 4.7l/100km, 0–100km 7.9s)

MINI Cooper D – $31,800 (savings of $3000)
(1.5 litre 3-cyl diesel engine, 85kW/270Nm, 3.7l/100km, 0–100km 9.2s)

MINI Cooper S – $36,950 (savings of $3750)
(2.0 litre 4-cyl petrol engine, 141kW/280Nm, 5.9l/100km, 0–1006.8s)

Wow indeed. Don't forget that there are market differences with what you get as standard though, but probably not to make up that difference. It also depends on the value of the R56, potentially overpriced in the first place?

Aussies usually have to pay way more for their cars than other places. I always thought that was shipping costs, but it could be that they get more standard stuff as well. This price slash is a pretty big discount though. Is that permanent or just for a limited time. "Lucky Aussies" is right.

Hey

Yes, the prices have been slashed. But with all the extras I will be getting, I will still be paying $56900 for mine.

I am pretty much getting the Media Pack, Park Assistant, Harman Kardon, Sunroof, Interior Lights Package, Anthracite Headliner, Chrome Interior, and Drive Assistant Pack.

So it does all add up

^^Well you certainly are committing. Your MINI will have all the bells and whistles.

I think that MINI may just be trying to gain market share in Australia and that is why they slashed the price.

I also read that Australia will also be receiving the One model later this year, which will be priced around $23,000.
