Hi all you crazy mini lovers! Yes I am one aswell.
I have a 2009 Mini Cooper S Clubman (Chilli) - one hot pocket rocket!
The ignition will not switch on - that is when you push the key fob in the sliding tray, it does not bring the lights on the dash board. However, the battery is good.
As a result the vehicle is stuck in park. I can't even put the vehicle in neutral to get it on a tow truck!
Has anyone had any issues with the key sliding tray? It is not the actual key as both supplied key fobs don't work!
Anyway my second question is - does any know how to manually override the transmission selector so I can put it in neutral so I can get it towed?
HELP - can't use my mini!
Cheers - John from Sydney

Won't Mini Roadside assistance at least connect you with a tow company that knows how to get the vehicle completely off the ground or disengage the shift lock?

F56 mini (which im guessing yours is not being a 2009) there is a release leaver under the gear selector, remove the cover and you need a screwdriver to put it on N.
