I quite like the sat nav it has some cool features but I am trying to find out whether the route you take has a colour image. Yes it shows the position I am on and advises on turns etc but I was wondering whether the route to a destination would be coloured blue etc like I have had on other makes

I like the navigation prompts on the HUD which I find really good to use. The voice instructions are also great but you need to adjust the volume for your own preference

Hi Centaur,

I don't have a car yet but I have got the driver's guide on a tablet. In a section called "Map View" it shows a picture with the planned route highlighted. Unfortunately that picture is black and white so I don't know what colour the highlight is :) There is also a note that says "After destination guidance is started, the planned route is displayed on the map."

Maybe you know the answer to this question... when you plan a route to a destination but you want to encourage the system to go a particular way, is there a method for entering waypoints or something to make it go the way you want?

Hi Mark
You can set route, points of interest verbally, by using the I drive feature rotary dial or by the touchpad. Full uk post code and by setting criteria you can also store against contacts direct to car which is all very good. Nope mine does not display chosen route so I rely on the HUD for turns etc.

My Audi A6 would show 3 optional routes economic fast and shortest, from what I have seen having used it three times to attend meetings. The XL does not have that feature. What I did find is you can select satellite view but then when you zoom in you are back to normal use ie you loose satellite view.

I've got an android tablet, but I think it's available for ipad/iphone as well.

Search for "mini drivers guide" in the app store... full name is mini driver's guide by BMW group.

It might not want to let you install it on your device... I followed steps described in this thread http://www.minif56.com/forum/289-mi.../6089-2014-hardtop-owner-s-manual-wanted.html

You can put your VIN in and it will be tailored to your features.

It's mostly the same as the PDF one, but it includes whole sections (like Navigation) that the PDF one lacks. I don't know if it's the same as the in car documentation.

Have fun :)

You can show different routes, I've done it but can't remember how.... :)

Min drivers app is very good, if you have the last 8 letters of your VIN it generates a copy specific to your build very interesting read because it also embedded links to Mini connectivity and I checked my iPhone 5s compatibility... That of course is another story

Hats of to Mini that mini drivers app specific to your own build that's what I call leading edge

Sat nav multiple wayward points can be loaded, strangely maximum address memory is 30 addresses but that will cover most of my work visits etc
