Media XL startup animation

So far (fingers crossed) no big concerns with my April 2015 Cooper S Auto other than the need for a wheel alignment. But one inconsistency with the electronics is confusing me. I have the Media XL setup and, sometimes, when I start the car there's a very cool "animation" on the screen. Lots of swirling swishing lines and then the Mini logo. But most of the time it just goes direct to the main menu screen on startup. No cool animation. Hardly a big deal, but confusing all the same. What's it all about?

If you leave the car in your garage unlocked at night, then the next morning open the door and start up the engine right away, you'll see it. If you lock your doors though, when you go to unlock them in the morning, the act of unlocking starts waking all the car's systems up. By the time you are sat and switch on the engine, the headunit is already booted and ready.

Exactly this, I've had it show up when I've sat in the car with the ignition and electronics off for enough time that they go to sleep. Any other time it's happened I can't pin point why.
