Really nice!!! I didn't realized it's possible to mix white roof with black strips (and viceversa). I guess it will make your MINI more unique!!!I ordered mine two weeks ago: British Racing Green with white roof, black bonnet stripes and black 16" victory wheels. Due to arrive the end of November. Can't wait!

Hi, may I know where is your dealer, country or town?I am about to order, on friday, a Cooper SD.
Last week I was at dealer and they had the 5 door version.
To warn you: the back doors are small! The biggest (design) difference (besides the extra doors + length) is that all doors have a solid frame. So no glass top coupe doors as the F56 has.
Thunder Grey with black roof/stiping and Roulette (F55 only) wheels.

Hi Shigaman, thanks for all the information and thoughts.Glad you like my colour configuration, Alex! I know it's a bit unorthodox to opt for contrasting roof and bonnet stripes, and it was't a combination that immediately occurred to me. Like everyone else, I suspect, I spent a lot of time playing with the various options on the configurator. I've always liked the British Racing Green - so that bit was easy - and after a long time experimenting with the bonnet, decided that I preferred it with black stripes. This seemed to call for a black roof to complement the bonnet stripes, but I was worried about keeping this clean. Here in Japan a lot of the rain we get carries sand and dust across from China (so called "yellow rain") and after a storm the sand deposits really stand out on black vehicles. I knew the white roof would be a lot easier to keep looking clean in this respect. But would it look weird with the black stripes? I worried a lot about this - especially since I couldn't find any photos the same configuration online. In the end, I decided to go with my gut instinct that, although unusual, it does actually look good (I think the thin white lines at the edges of the black bonnet stripe, and my choice of black rims, help to bring it all together). Others may not agree, but I like it. You're right, it will be a rather unique look - at least here in Japan.
As for the size of the back doors on the F55 - I'm sure you've seen that following the official launch of the 5-door last week, there are a growing number of reviews online, and some official driving scenes footage on YouTube ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtQi3-IrqI0)
A number of the reviews do remark on the small size of the rear doors and how these do not make it the easiest car to get into the back of. If you have doubts, I think you're right to hang on and see the car for yourself, in the metal. As for me, I'm not bothered in the least about the rear doors being a tad small. Any bigger and I guess it would have been impossible for Mini to retain the same basic shape of the F56 (the F55 roof is the same size, I understand). And the doors maybe on the narrow side, but they will make it much easier for rear passengers to get in and out than is the case with the 3-door. That's all I wanted - that and the extra storage space. I've been very happy to read in all of the reviews that despite the new dimensions and extra weight, the F55 sacrifices very little in terms of the driving experience. I won't get to see my Mini till the end of November, but based on the reviews I've been reading, so far no regrets.
I like your Thunder Grey configuration, JVondel, and it looks great with the roulette wheels (those are not available from Japan, and neither is the SD currently)
I am in the Netherlands. The official introduction is in October, but some dealers have a demo car and it is now possible to order (3 weeks ago).Hi, may I know where is your dealer, country or town?
Here in Italy I guess the dealers will not show it before the end of October...
Moreover how is the space capability on the rear seats? Is there enough comfort, maybe for 181cm tall people, in your opinion?
About the small rear doors, do these allow the entry in the rear? Or is it too much difficult?
And, how is the design in general? Is it good with the 5 doors too? Is it preserved the MINI style and outside lines proportion?
Thanks for your thoughts
Hi, congrats for your choice. I'm Italian and also here in Italy the dealers have still to receive the new F55. Then we'll have to wait to see it.I have ordered one 5 doors in orange volcanic with white roof, we haven't still see in direct any car because in Spain dealers have no units....we have so nice remebers of our R56 that we have made the order anyway, for us with a bit more ox extra space in the rear seats and the 2 extra doors is enought for our two kids
I just see a F55 in Andorra and it is nice, for us as second car is perfect, we have a jaguar xf as principal car, perhaps if you have the f55 as unic car will be not enough space...Hi, congrats for your choice. I'm Italian and also here in Italy the dealers have still to receive the new F55. Then we'll have to wait to see it.
I'd like to ask you if you have any other car in addiction to the F55 you ordered...you see, we have a small child too, maybe a second will come, we do like the new Mini F55 so much but we've just some concerns about the rear and the boot space...
Would it be enough in your opinion? Consider that we have another car, a Mercedes A Class W169 coupe (3Doors)...maybe should we buy a roomier car such as a BMW series1 or an Audi A3 SPB?
We're really uncertain about the choice, we like MINI but would we be able to take a trip 4 people with a couple of bags and 2 strollers for instance???
Is it just like the pictures?I've ordered moonwalk grey cooper, chilli pack, black roof, black wheels.... Can't wait :0)
