Hi, for those of you that are running android, I've noticed that we finally have a Mini Connected App for Android.
You can download it from here :

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bmwgroup.connected.mini

For some reason or another the app is geoblocked, and will only allow you to install in some regions. But don't worry you can get around it by manually downloading the app onto your pc, copy it to your phone and then you should be able to install it.

Copy the above URL and past into this website:

http://apps.evozi.com/apk-downloader/

save the file to your PC, and then copy to your phone, open a file browser and then open the .apk file and you should be able to install it!

I've got a Samsung Galaxy S4 (i9505) and it installed fine, I'm not sure wether or not other phone models also work..

Enjoy ! :)

So near and yet so far!
This is very interesting. Following your instruction, I downloaded the .apk file to my PC and thence to my Samsung Galaxy player 4.2 but it won't install since it says "Parse Error"
Tried it twice to no avail.
Still digging for a solution.
Cheers

I did manage to install the app from Google Play store. But so far, I'm not impressed. About all I've been able to see is the calendar from my phone, and some rss feeds, which I'm not that interested in in the car. What options are available when using the iphone?

grayeul, I was asking myself the same thing!

The calendar and rss feeds are quite useless for me. I wanted at least web radio and, if possible, a better way to configure destinations in the navigation system.

So far I am really not impressed.

Furthermore, when you activate the Mini Connected, it disables the "bluetooth audio" therefore I cannot listen to Songza anymore while in the car.

How to plug my Galaxy S4

Hi All, I have a ´14 Countryman with Mini Connected and already download android´s app but when I plug my Galaxy S4 to the usb and open the Connected on the Mini appears a message that no phone is detected. What I´m doing wrong?

Thanks

From what I've seen with Songza (an android app that streams music), it could only play streamed music when connected via Bluetooth.

It could not play Songza through USB. It would only play the music stored on my phone (including ringtones which don't make a great playlist!)

Can't use Spotify in Canada since it's still not available here ...

Open up 'more apps' from the connected menu, this will open up Amazon music or Tune in radio. Stream music from your cloud in Amazon. These are the two I have on my iPhone so there maybe more. Audio quality is superb too. Might eat up data usage on your phone though.

Hi Kurosh, it doesn't work with bluetooth unfortunately. You will need to connect to the usb port and your charging cable will work no problem. Once you connect your phone launch the app and it should connect automatically. then go the connected option in your car and the world is your oyster ;)

I had the same issue when my phone ingested the Lolipop update. I had to dump Mini Connected completely and download again. The good news is that now we Andoidians get Journeymate as well, plus a couple new built in apps only the iApple people had before

Hello I have 2015 Mini Cooper roadster S and had a note 3 and it worked fine but someone told me that the iPhone was geared toward my car so I traded my note 3 for an iPhone 6+ and it didn't read my test or emails like my note 3 so I traded it for a Samsung mega 2 and it worked reading my text and emails if I get one while I'm bluetooth but I hate the phone - to say all a this I was wondering if anyone knows if the Samsung note 4 will pair with the car before I take this mega 2 phone back - ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED AS WE ARE NEW TO THE MINI COOPER
