I've still got a month until my new Mini comes but today I saw an Audi A1 in metallic black with very cool dark grey wheels. It did look rather cool. Please can someone reassure me that I have definitely made the correct decision!! This will be my first ever Mini but this wait is so long!

P.s. My Mini will look exactly like the one in my profile picture, LED's, pepper pack etc etc... (photo attached)

I looked at the a1 black edition before going for the mini, really nice fun car to drive but found it too small inside hence going for the bigger mini lol.

Definitely, not that I'm biased of course what with having a Mini on order but a recent What Car magazine did a comparison between the Audi A1 and the Mini One and the Mini was the better car out of the two.

Audi cars are very well made but they do have a poor reputation for ride and handling. The A1 also looks dated along side the f56.

We've been there too.
Exterior looks pretty smart, but A1 interior is bland and boring compare to the Mini.
Rear seats are actually more cramped believe it or not.
The new 3 cylinders block in your mini would put up a real good fight.

And in the end of the day, there is only one true Mini car.

I looked at an a1 sline style edition. What the dealer didn't tell me for obvious reasons is that the a1 is due a facelift early 2015 so now is not the right time to buy

I had an Audi A3 Sportsback DSG 2.0TDI. I loved that car. But now I grew up and drive a Ford S-Max with 4 kids in the back. Now my new company car will be a Mini. I love the Audi design, but it is more business like and after my test drive in the Mini: it is more fun, it is different. Definitely not mainstream (Golf, A1/3, BMW1, etc). And the new Mini is definitely a big improvement and looks great: So I would say: good choice.

Just my personal opinion really, the A1 and Mini are of similar quality but the Audi is a bit boring compared to the Mini especially when considering the interior.
