Mini Heads Up Display (HUD)

Hi,

For those of you who are fortunate enough to have already received you cars, are you are to take some photos of the heads up display, with something displayed on the unit.
Also, can anyone confirm what is actually displayed on the unit as standard. IE not running navigation..

@texy it is available in the UK under the driver assistant pack

Ok. Can't see a drivers assistant pack on the configurator thou. I can see a parking assistant pack however.

Have to admit this - as a gadget freak/nerd - was at the top of my want list and the more I read about its functions I am so glad!! I didn't know that about adaptive cruise control (I have ordered Drivers Pack) I don't think Mini do a great job of selling what's included!!!

Whilst driving last week I got a 'traffic hazard warning triangle ' on the HUD. It indicated that there were problems on the motorway - think it was a strong wind warning over Barton Bridge Manchester - although it didn't specify what the actual problem was it did alert you to a possible dangerous situation. I suspect this is all linked into the Sat Nav - still learning what all the bells and whistles represent !!

It's not shown under packs.

On the configurator you'll find it under equipment/Safety & Security

Thing is Milo - the Germans sell you things that you don't even know you need - so therefore logically no need to explain it just make it sound good

One downfall for the HUD is if you tend to wear Polaroid sunglasses. Then you'll find the data on the HUD disappearing ion most cases! So check that out if you wear Polaroids, when you're at your dealer.

I've found this really annoying at times too. Different sunnies effect the glass tint in different ways. I find the HUD much easier and useful at night (even though it's illegal to have one at all still where I live )

I UK only makes you check visual boost to get HUD (JCW Config.)

Does anyone know if that is all that is required to get the JCW sport speedo showing on HUD. This is a cool feature that has Speed, Revs round current gear and cool bars that come in from the side to indicate change up optimum point.

Main reason I want HUD is this sport speedo so I'd be dissapointed if it didnt have it cause I didn't check another option on top.

Anyone know if what is required to get JCW sport speedo showing on HUD?

I've got it without the XL package. Visual boost is enough.. Try in the configurator.

For some reason I can't see the door indication sign ( tells me which doors are opened) on my hud.

It is literally impossible for it to look how it looks to the human eye when taken by a camera, I don't know why but it just comes out tiny...

Something to do with the depth of the reflection or something for too clever for me to understand but it looks small on camera but the display is actually a perfectly adequate size in person...

That's what I tell all my partners...

But really should just take it for a test drive! Go check it out - it's awesome.

The HUD is a must have. Too bad it's not a system that projects the info directly on the windshield because I always wonder how durable these plastic moving parts are. I never look om my speedo and to be honest if I do there's so much information on the little info screen in the speedo that it's sometimes confusing. All I'm missing is the rev counter and the actual gear you're driving in but I was informed that this is info that the JCW is showing. So my question is if its possible why not provide it on all Mini's? The HUD is expensive enough to justify getting all the options.

I thought I was going to order the HUD until I tried to use it with polarising sunglasses - that would have been a waste of money, so beware if you use polarising sunglasses and are going to pay the best part of £500 for it.

Lol....what next you will be wanting a JCW exhaust,Brembos etc thrown in for the same price:laugh: Got to have a few different toys to justify the money.

we cant get anything apart from the speed to display we dont have sat nav or driver assist pack so trip back to mini.....
