Hi,

For those of you who are fortunate enough to have already received you cars, are you are to take some photos of the heads up display, with something displayed on the unit.
Also, can anyone confirm what is actually displayed on the unit as standard. IE not running navigation..
Thanks. :)

I have to ask.....

Why would you drive with polarised lenses ? If you had a heated screen you'll see all the wires running through the glass. Polarised glass is designed to reduce reflections (like water), not the best thing to drive with in my opinion...

As my car was originally destined for the showroom it has all the toys on it, and the speed limit, speedo reading and rev counter are really handy. You only get the gear display when you push the gear selector over to the left on the auto, but if you start using the paddles it reminds you that you are in manual mode by showing M2, M3 etc.

I have yet to fathom out how to get the NAV information on the HUD too. That's this weekends little project

I thought I was going to order the HUD until I tried to use it with polarising sunglasses - that would have been a waste of money, so beware if you use polarising sunglasses and are going to pay the best part of £500 for it.
Old thread, but thought I'd update with my experiences. You can still see the display even though the polarized glasses dim it significantly. I have also found that all you need to do is incline your head slightly and the display instantly becomes super bright and clear.

Don't be scared off by the polarized sunglasses "feature". Buy the HUD.
Def get a HUD, then buy cheap non polarised sunglasses!

I have clip ons and the 1st set I had were polarised, I soon got some normal ones off Amazon when the Mini arrived!!

Is there any way to lift up the HUD? On mine its almost blanked out by the steering wheel - and I'm 6ft tall!

You can align the projection into the HUD in the menus.
I've got it as high as it goes. Still too low :-(
Have to have the steering wheel a tad too low for my liking. Hard to believe anyone under 5'10” can ever see the thing?
Maybe its just what I've come from but ergonomics on this car are not great. I cite this and the handbrake / arm rest collision as major fook ups!

Sounds like you need to adjust your seat higher to me.
Yes I'm 5'10 and when I had the bud got everything perfect. Adjust hud adjust seat and wheel. Plenty to go at!
For me the best position for the HUD info is just at the base of the windscreen not halfway down the bonnet. Mostly because I wear vari-focal specs and the focus points for my lenses make it the most comfortable distance to look at.

I wear polarised sunglass to stop glare, sometimes you are following a car and the angle of the sun and the car in fronts rear window can blind you. Never had a problem with any of the displays when wearing them.

Getting sat-nav info on the HUD is great, comes up when you have a destination set and shows you which lane to be in for junctions and count downs to turns.
Sounds like you need to adjust your seat higher to me.
Tried that but my perm is ruined by the head lining ?

Please don't get me wrong - I can adjust everything so I can see the display. I just think it would be better (for me) if it could be raised 5 - 10mm in the dash.
I'm 5' 11", my wife is 5' 6" and we both can see the HUD perfectly with plenty of adjustment.

The HUD position changes when she uses her key, as it's set up on the profile.
