Has anyone on the forum added this dealer installed option? If so, would you share you thoughts on the value for the price, was it worth it? Also, do you have the dynamic damper control? How long did the installation take? Is the high speed handling noticeably improved?
Mini JCW Coil Over Suspension

Thanks for the tip, I posted the same question on it just a bit ago. I will search the posts again with the information that you supplied.
The JCW coilovers are made by KW so probably re-branded KW v1 coilovers but with some specification changes to Mini's specification...
One note to bear in mind is that they are not suitable for cars with Electronic damper option although I have read that some have fitted them to cars with EDC but I checked with Mini dealer in UK and was told that if I fitted them to a car that has EDC (which it is not intended) then the warranty is void on the suspension or associated parts! This was made clear to me and confirmed by Mini who the dealer contacted.. This may vary from region to region though?
I have EDC so my only option is to go with KW if I decide to get coilovers which at least the warranty will be with KW for their parts if they become faulty (within 2 years from new)

I have the dynamic damper suspension and it appears from what I have been able to glean that it must be disabled to use the coil over suspension system. My question is would it be possible to have it coupled to the system so that the DS is disabled in sport mode only? I really like the DS in the mid and eco modes although I seldom use either. And I don't think it is used when sport is selected so I may have answered my own question and that it really is not an option with the DS. Sort of a bummer, but the car handles really good already. Thanks for the response.

Dan, you can configure the DDC by going to settings-Driving Modes-Configure Sport. Your options are Drivetrain and Chassis, Drivetrain, Chassis. Selecting drivetrain will keep the Sport Mode throttle response but will not stiffen up the suspension or weight the steering. Selecting Drivetrain and Chassis stiffens the suspension, weights the steering and gives you the sport mode throttle response.
Thanks, I think the default was the latter and that included everything and I like that in sport.
If you decide on going the KW coilover route for cars with Electronic damping control, the EDC will be cancelled so will no longer function.
This is done by installing some blanking plugs as seen in the guide below -

I suspect they actually don't do anything apart from sealing the connectors from elements e.g. water
That's probably why I've read that you get no CEL errors in dash when you disconnect the EDC when installing coilovers e.g. JCW, KW etc...
However I did ask KW if it was possible to use a KW v1 (for non EDC cars) and buy the blanking plugs separately but they told me the top mount on the EDC cars is different so you must buy the KW kit that includes the EDC cancellation.
