You might feel like a cheap skate, but a Mini is anything but cheap. Buy what you can afford and are comfortable with, there will be no judgement made regarding your choices.

I deliberately waited until my dealer had a MINI One to try when road-testing the Cooper and seriously considered buying it. It was only the fact that the car insurance on the Cooper was better than I expected, and so affordable, that swayed the decision.
I enjoyed driving the MINI One a lot and would not feel it was inferior to the other MINIs at all.
If it suits your needs then thats all that matters.

i know!
i am in a clubman soho cooper D which i spec'ed to the roof everything bar the sunroof
but after the arrival of twins and need of a bigger car my wife traded in her 07 R 56 hatch for a peagout 3008. so i decided as my contract was up and i'd seen the one advertised for £199 a month plus deposit id see what they could do for me using my so as deposit.
impressed by the test drive and added a few goodies
happy with the finace.
Everyones a winner!!
