Hello, I am new to the forum, below car is for my sister actually but I configured it. I really like the car and have a bit more time to change the configuration as wanted, so please help me out.

Here are the specs for her 5 door MINI:

Euro Spec Mini Cooper with Chilli Package
MINI visual boost (no navigation)
Truffle punched leather

My questions are as follows:

1) does she get a better sound system with the MINI Visual Boost and the Chilli package. Dealer says it is a bit better than standard but less good than HK system?

2) does it matter that truffle leather also has brushed leather inserts, it is not full leather, will that get dirty...had no clue it had partly brushed leather

3) will there be new leather colors introduced/inserts for the dash? MINI configurator for Germany as well as UK is mostly down, I assume they are making changes.

4) Now the tricky one, if she takes PIANO LACK (already ordered) then she does not get the LED strip in the doors (I assume that is the only LED strip edition). Does she get the LED strip with MINI YOURS FIBER alloy inserts?
Are there LED strips on the front console

5) Is the ring around the visual boost (6,5" screen) one ambient light line or is it broken down with space in between. Videos of the mini boost online show that the ring around the screen is broken down, and on some of the photos it is fully lighten up (one line)

MINI is already ordered but there is still some small room for changes before it reaches production.

I also must add that the car is great. I have a much bigger new car right now and need to figure out a way to buy a bigger car for the family and have the MINI as my daily ride. It is fairly complex to do, but as I am sooooo impressed with the way the MINI drives and the pleasure that I want one too now.

1yes an extra pair of speakers 6 rather than 4 . Sounded fine to me.
4 no if you go piano black no led strips but still mood lighting in the door handles lower dash etc. I like it.

5 the ring is a whole series of leds that light up As one or in bits according to what you set it for. Hope this helps no idea about the others!

Thanks a lot! It is a five door and almost exact combo as yours! Volcanic orange with black roof, black stripes on the hood.

I just had a test drive of a cooper Diesel S with CHilli without visual boost and it as a whole line it was not in bits. More like first image below from a www.miniusa.com .The ones I am seeing on youtube have it in bits.

Am wondering if worth to add the fiber alloy MINI yours for the dash as it seems not to be changing for the doors so I guess no light (only with Darwood).

I tried to replicate the order we made on the US configurator which is the only one functioning properly that I could find.

My F55 has MINI yours fibre alloy and the chilli pack and I can confirm that you get the extended led lighting strips in both the front and rear doors. I changed my spec from Piano black in order to get extended mood lighting.


The alloy part of the pack applies only to the inserts in the dashboard. The surround for the central display is Piano black and the door inserts are silver/grey. HTH

Can you post some photos? If not, can you comment on your choice, are you happy with the fibre alloy? I would combine it with truffle leather and the lower dash being in truffle color as well. So LED strip extends to rear seats as well. Door inserts are then silver grey, interesting. Am on the fence with the piano black. Would you make the same choice again? THANKS A LOT!

I'll try and get some pics this evening. Very happy with the choice and glad I switched from Piano black. The LED door strips are pretty cool.

I too would go for the fibre alloy over piano black. Pb shows every finger print.like it but if you can afford it the extra mood lights look v nice.

Your first pic of the led ring is most representatives of real life the other two show it with nothing but some reflections it's truly lovely and gives a continuous light blue for phone green for eco it can be a rev counter or if you alter the air con it goes blue for cold r r red for warmer but I'm spoiling the surprise wait and see its fab.

I want to know whether the music can be played via cable and also to show album artwork. Can it do those two things just with visual boost? Or do i have to have this enhanced thing. THANK YOU

Yes, you can play music via the cable OR Bluetooth audio with just the Visual Boost and without the enhanced Bluetooth. Album artwork comes up as well. However, for me I've had a few problems with Bluetooth audio so I now only use the USB.

If I had known back in Feb (it was another case of that whole configurator not giving enough info situation) how to get the led strip, I'd have spent the money on it. I think this is the first time I've seen or heard of the alloy panels... that's a great look.

hi all new here , im looking at a potential mini cooper and looking at the configurator and its mine field of options im confused.


Are you saying that if I order chilli pack with has the excitement pack and basic interior lights pack ( I think) along with piano black trim I wont get the led light strips in the back doors? The reason I ask as it doesn't remove the option when I add piano black?

I can see now the door strips only seem to be apart of the mini yours trim packs , its very subtle on the configurator but you can just see the lights
