So who else has the sports auto? I've got it and is supposed to be more efficient along with being quicker

Here we go To keep it simple. It's physically impossible to get more mile per gallon out of a petrol than it is a diesel IF they are driven in the same manner. A quickly driven Diesel will muller a quickly driven petrol in the MPG stakes period.

The car was hot and moving when I reset trip. Also worthy of note is average speed 35.4. This was a steady drive not going over 60 mph and one traffic light race the car is Automatic (sports) and it was in Eco mode except for the traff light race.

Just done a long trip (170 miles)and averaged 63mph and achieved 50.2 mpg now that ain't bad. I didn't use cruse control once but had my limiter set to 85. I started trip in city centre and ended on country roads with 120 miles of M way in between.
