Hi All, I have had set of NEW alloys on my car from Rimstyle. They arrived and i put the wheels on as normal. I paid £150 more for the TPS sensors to be included in the package. Which they were. The problem i have now is when i go to reset the TPS light is wont go away it says resetting and nothing happens. Has anyone else had this issue and how it has been resolved?

Thank you,

A couple of things that I can recommend...

Reset the TPMS system only when you are some distance away from the other wheels (maybe stored in garage). That will give it the best chance to pick up the new wheels sensors instead of the old ones.

Then you must drive the car for at least a couple of miles or maybe more before it's fully reset. You can see the % counter whilst your driving along if you leave the Tyre Monitor screen open whilst driving (Not sure if visual boost/media sceen needed for this?)

If you find that it's still not picking up the sensors, perhaps you have either faulty ones or the wrong type of sensors.

Are the TPMS sensors aftermarket or MINI/BMW? I've heard from several other people that some 3rd party sensors don't work properly on the F56

From what I know the TPMS on the F55 is in the suspension not the Wheels. I just put aftermarket winter tires and rims on my car and I didn't need to buy a TPMS I was advised it was in the suspension. It reads the height of the car not the tire pressure itself.

NOOOO Spartacus, not in the uk or eu at least-there is a battery powered module in each wheel behind the valve-it sends a radio signal to the car with pressure reading of the individual tyre. NOTHING to do with the height of the car I'm afraid-i bought them and had them put in at around £70 a tyre!

the earlier r series had a clever system using the abs sensor that sensed when a tyre had deflated that it was rotating slower than the others-however this wasnt accurate enough for runflats and the EU beaureaucrats who like to spend our money and make life harder for manufacturers!

I just had my wheels with new tires installed and used the factory sensors that came with the car I had to drive for about 15 miles before mine reset. The only other thing I can think of is that the after market sensors do not link up with you Mini because of a different Frequency

I just had today my F55 winter tyres fitted with tyre pressure sensors - sensors were missing from aftermarket wheels. The sensors are indeed in the valves - if you compare to stock wheels with pressure sensors, you notice the difference with valve looks if there is no sensor

My warning came on the other night while overtaking on the motorway, in fact triple overtaking, outside lane!

Slight panic as no idea if the tyre was going flat so managed to get over but no hard shoulder!! Whoever thought this a good idea needs shooting!! With luck I was passing a slip road and managed to get over onto the end of the slip.

Anyway no flat found and reset the system and continued for another 40 miles on the motorway with fingers crossed :)

Having had several MINI's with runflats I found the warning system very good, 8-10 psi down and it was giving the warning on the dash.

5 punctures in runflats makes me think due to the stiff sidewall there isn't the flex if you run over object!

Found this in one...
