My car has been diagnosed with a faulty BODY Domain Controller. I decided to get a new one rather than getting a salvaged unit. I did not buy from my local Mini dealer since they charge twice as much but was able to source at a USA Mini dealer just had to present registration and identification as proof of ownership.
My question is: Does the programming/coding have to be done at the dealer? Or can I have it done at local BMW/Mini expert shops? What are the risks incase I have it done at local shops? Im not sure if my dealer will do the coding since I did not purchase it from them.
Also, I read that the odometer reading is programmed into the BDC so if I change to a new one, what will happen to my odo?
Hoping to get some input. Thanks.
