New Mini Owner, York, UK

Hi all,

I have just ordered a Mini Cooper 3 door hatch and I'm awaiting news on the build date etc, which apparently will be approx 6 to 7 weeks. I went for a few options.....

British Racing Green
Chili Pack
Media Pack
Interior chrome pack
Expert or chrome pack
Anthracite headliner
Heated seats
Heated windscreen
17" Tentacle spoke alloy wheels
Non-run flat tyres
Piano black interior trim
Black bonnet stripes
Dark tinted rear windows

I can't wait to collect it! I put the order through 10 days ago, is it normal for the dealer to take some time confirming a build slot / delivery date?

Look forward to spending some time on this site!

Congrats man! It looks stunning! I ordered the same color coding for my f55! (arriving in about to weeks)

How are you finding the tinted windows?

I collect the car tomorrow so will check out the windows properly - although most of my previous cars have had factory tinted glass, so not expecting anything too different.

Well I collected the Mini on Saturday 16th July and the car is brilliant, I’m really happy with the BRG paint, black bonnet stripes inc roof and mirrors, the tinted glass and finally the tentacle spoke alloys. It isn’t all plain sailing though, there car has a few issues which resulted in me dropping the car off at the dealer yesterday to get them looked at. Annoying more than anything, as I waited over 3 months for the car and only got to drive it for a week! They have loaned me a base Cooper 1.5, which is way quicker than mine, let’s hope mine loosens up after a few miles.

The faults are a rattling in the headliner above my head, steering wheel which isn’t straight and worse of all, a loose ratchet mechanism on the driver’s seat backrest. It creaks and cracks, especially in stop start traffic. Fingers crossed they will sort these issues quickly, as I want to be back in my car again!
