That is sweeeeeeeet !

Lovely colour ( I have to admit a slight bias as mine due in June is same colour)

I have chosen the 16" Black Victory wheels ( non runflat tyres) due to the cost and improvement in ride , those 17" ers look really tasty though

Interesting on the USA website it calls it "semi metallic" which is a fair description as there isn't as much metallic glitter in the paint .

Yea I really like the set-up that you went with with your MINI. Love the color and the racing stripes.

How are you enjoying actually driving your MINI though? Are you happy with the performance and everything?

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

Yes, the paint is sorta "semi-metallic" -- it definitely has a nice gloss and reflectivity, but not necessarily flakes like in other paints. From some angles it looks almost matte.

In terms of driving, I am still taking it a little easy on the engine during the "break in period" -- however I did get to push pretty hard in the test drive, which I thought was really great! The handling is very crisp (in the sport mode) and you can tell the torque is there, giving you plenty of power even at the low end of the RPMs. I had only ever driven one mini from back in the mid-2000s, and I would say that this still drives like a "mini" even though it is a little bigger. It is so easy to whip around, and the clutch/shifter on the manual is very forgiving and an absolute breeze. It rev-matches for you on downshifts, which is a bit of a cheat, and hard to get used to if it is in your muscle memory like me, but once you get used to it, it is really nice. What was perhaps the biggest surprise compared to the old ones is how refined it feels both driving and on the interior. It feels a lot like a BMW in that way. In sum, I love it.

I am so pumped to finally be a part of this awesome community!

Hi Julian! Your car looks awesome! I'm considering ordering a very similar combo. I have been searching the internet for Moonstone Gray Mini's and they are pretty hard to come by and yours seem to be the best. I'd love to see it in person but my local dealer doesn't have any in stock. Would you mind taking a few more photos of it, maybe in the sun? Thanks!

If you have searched for moonstone Gray then I am not all that surprised!!

There is a thread started on the colour " moonwalk grey "

That's what I meant. I must have been thinking of VW's Silverstone Gray at the same time. I saw that link thanks. I did go to autotrader and filtered what I was looking for. Got some pretty decent shots. It's so hard deciding between moonwalk and white silver ahhhh

Hey iDan,

Thanks for the compliments! I have had the car almost a month now, and I am still really happy with it. The color is certainly unique, and what I have found is that it seems to really take on the color of the lighting and environment, giving it slight shades of whatever is near it (orange sunlight, greenery, or blue sky). I attached a couple photos on my way home from work this evening, so you can compare to the cloudy day of my first photos. You'll see in the first one with a setting sun, parked next to green shrubs, there is a warm tint and even a little green. When I get home under the fluorescent lights, it is a more neutral gray. The word "moon" really is a good word, as it has a flatness to it, but is reflective enough to bring out colors, just as the moon can occasionally look orange or red.

Hope these pics help, you definitely can't go wrong as these are handsome cars all around!

For the other question, I had an 93 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 as it is known in the USA, it was called the GTO in Japan, and I'm not sure if it was ever in the UK. It was 300hp, but heavy, and the Mini feels almost as fast, certainly more nimble and more FUN to drive. Just for fun I posted a pic of my old car.

Really nice colour. Looks great in the pics. Quite a bit darker than the online Configurator makes it appear

(although I do have to say not quite as nice as Volc Orange ;)....but then I would say that!)
