Just spied a news article on this particular recall.
http://www.edmunds.com/car-news/2015-mini-cooper-hardtop-recalled-for-seatback-problem.html
Apparently, it only impacts 846 2015 hardtops manufactured August 12, 2014, to September 2, 2014 that were bound for North America. Mine was built October 4 so I'm good. Might want to check your build date if you're in the Great White North or The Land of Guns and God.
Here's the text of the NHTSA bulletin (essentially, "Don't call us, we'll call you.") I've also attached two PDF docs that were referenced in the bulletin:
Report Receipt Date: NOV 10, 2014
NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V721000
Component(s): SEATS
Vehicle Make Model Model Year(s): MINICOOPER2015
Manufacturer: BMW of North America, LLC
SUMMARY:
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain model year 2015 MINI Cooper Hardtop 2 Door vehicles manufactured August 12, 2014, to September 2, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the driver and front passenger seatback adjustment mechanism may not be fully engaged.
CONSEQUENCE:
If the seatback adjustment mechanism is not fully engaged, the seatback may fold during a rear impact collision, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant.
REMEDY:
MINI will notify owners, and dealers will re-align and re-tighten the seatback adjustment mechanisms, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin in December 2014. Owners can contact MINI customer service at 1-866-825-1525.
