In my opinion, the JCW sport seats should only be available in the JCW's. Probably in the minority on this, but we pay premium prices for the top model, so "some" exclusivity is warranted I believe.

That being said, I agree there should be more materials & colors to choose from. One classic look is a black car with red interior...that really pops! But, is it marketable?

Ever see a 1957 or 1959 Corvette in Black with Silver side coves & full Red interior?...absolutely gorgeous!

Manufacturers tend to go with the most broadly marketable options.
Only the racing flag style cloth is available in non JCW. The seat design is different. Think about what BMW does with their own line. You can get an M sport package on most of their line. But you cannot get the power plant/full monte unless you get the M series. Agree to disagree;)

Yes, I thought of your old seats Peter.....like you said, the material was the same but not with JCW sport seat frames. The original/earlier "M Series" cars were exclusive...non M-cars only got M sport package treatment after the marketing boys started interjecting themselves. Times change for sure.

I think you are seeing BMW back off a little with the "package treatment" for non JCW's. The sport suspension is only available stock on the JCW now I believe. Does your new MCS had ss?
When I bought my E30 M3 , there wasn't an M part you could order for your standard 3 series. I think it's more geared towards BMWs balance sheet.
My 2016 has the dynamic suspension, it's interesting with the choice of suspension mods I have to date. ;)
