So one week in from delivery and our first trip as a family is over. The Mini (F55) performed very well, answering a couple of questions that couldn't be answered until we had the car, like true boot space! Could it hand a week away with the 4 of us in tow? (2 adults and 2 teenagers) the answer was yes with relative ease. Boot space was ample, fuel economy was as I thought it would be (41.8 mpg UK) total miles driven 375. The car was very comfortable for all of us, but for me, the driver, it was excellent, I had great fun on the Welsh mountain roads and it was also very punchy and smooth on the motorways with overtaking a breeze. Although driving through some of the more narrower lanes (single track) I did touch a little cloth at times when I had to move over to let people through...

All in all I'm very happy let's hope it continues :0)

Now that's refreshing to hear. We rarely get to see posts that say the car is just fine lol! Not that they aren't, it's just more usual to hear about the issues that crop up. That's completely natural, but it's nice to read when a car has no problems now and then.

I'm so envious. My Cooper was built the same week as yours but is still sitting at the factory awaiting delivery to dealer! I'm holding my breath for a phone call.
I'm glad you're enjoying it though, and what a great trip to start on! :D

If I can get mine out of the VDC in time to pick up on Wed, it will get to take a nice little trip up to PA. Otherwise it will have to wait for me to get back (other states frown on you driving through their states without a license plate). Bonus is that by the time I get back, it will be through the break-in period!

It's not a little trip from AL to PA! Ha! But, a trip through the Blue Ridge Mountains would be really nice. Just so you know, Winter is really hangin on up here, as Spring is having a really tough time reaching the "sprung phase"! Next week is suppose to get out of the 50's, but I'll believe it when I see it!

Start banging on their door if I was you. I was always polite with my salesman, but he knew, I wanted my car, like we all do.

LOL well my definition of short trip is anything I can do in 10 hours or less ha. The only reason I've planned this one as a 2 day run is to take it easier on the new baby (assuming it poops out of the VDC in time). But yeah, I'm looking forward to getting there on some roads I've never been on before, so that will be cool. Been noticing those temps too. We keep doing the back and forth between spring and winter, so I've got the warmer clothes handy!
