I'm sure there are some convertible owners who really enjoy their "Open Meter" gauge, therefore this question won't apply to you.

However for those of us who think the "open meter" is a useless gauge, where that dash space could have been better utilized with something functional such as a, water temperature gauge, boost pressure gauge, an oil pressure gauge, G meter, or? my question is: Has anyone replaced their open meter with something else such as a water temp gauge, or ?

If so how much trouble was it to do?

The Open Meter isn't a dash mounted gauge on the F57, it's an 'app' in the multimedia system.

It looks like a dash mounted gauge to me, but if I am using the wrong terminology I will rephrase the question. :)

Has anyone removed the open meter gauge, from the open meter gauge pod located next to the tachometer (and digital speedometer) on a 2015 convertible, and replaced it with some other gauge?

A 2015 convertible isn't the latest generation F57, that did have a dash mounted gauge - you are correct, however the 3rd Gen. Convertible doesn't. I thought you were referring to the F57, my apologies.

Ok, thanks but where is the r series forum? I don't see it anywhere.

As I stated, I am sure some people love the Open Meter, and that's fine for those who do, but for me it is a totally useless item. I don't need a gauge to tell me how much time I have had the top down, therefore I would much rather have something functional in that space.

Thanks, you are correct and I probably should have stated the car's year. I am glad to hear that it is an app on the next generation convertible because I have a 2017 JCW convertible heading to the US as I write this. I also ordered the gauge package so my question won't apply to the new car.

Therefore my question was actually for the next potential owner of my 2015 S convertible. I have it for sale and was asked if a gauge kit was available. I told him the Open Meter pod would be a good place for at least one gauge and I would check the Mini forum and see if anyone had already done it. It doesn't appear that anyone has............ Oh well in a few days I won't care anymore anyway.
