Well, today was a good day.
After yesterdays introduction, I am sure those who read and commented will be aware of my colour and spec dilemma. However, it turns out that (as I was rightly told on this very forum) I had nothing to worry about, the dealer would be more than happy to change my spec and only too delighted to help in doing so.

Well, this afternoon after a trip to the knee doctor (hence the auto) with much trepidation I approached my dealer only to find they already had my file out and were awaiting my arrival with smiles of laughter (it appears that my "oh and one more thing" addition emails over the weekend had indeed caught their attention) and they were determined to help me get it right.

So, first things first, I said "Right, I have decided definitely on Moonwalk Grey" They said "No problem! We actually happen to have one around the corner, come and look"
I smiled. A curious grin and my mind began to dash. Excited to see the colour I had put my hopes in.
Well I started to look and as much as it was pleasing me and my eye, and I imagined myself in such a colour car, I found myself drawn to the Volcanic Orange parked next it. The more I looked, the more I thought, maybe, just maybe....
So, it was decided, Volcanic Moonwalk Grorange it was!
We left the car park where these two trouble making MINI's were sat, walked back to the showroom and BANG!! Straight into more problems.
You see, them MINI's were really determined to do a number on my poor indecisive brain by putting a freshly cleaned White Silver, Black 17" Cosmos, Black Roof and Mirrors MC in the showroom and that was what did for me.
It stopped me dead in my tracks. it sparkled and danced around the showroom, it said "See how my roof and mirrors look so brilliant against my bodywork, see my alloys compliment my superior looks, feel how my dark glass cossets you from the sun and watch as my Carbon Black interior matches the oh so bright speckles in my paintwork" (to be honest, I was getting the idea that this MINI was a little camp and might be better Tap Dancing on Cruise Ships)
But I was taken in! I was besotted. It was... it was.... Love....
Yes I know I was going to have to change the spec to include Dark Rear Glass, yes I know it was nothing like the other two colours and yes, I know it had made a fool of me....
But thats what happens when you fall.
And fell I did

So the order placed today is now set at

MINI Cooper S Auto
White Silver
Chili Pack
Black Roof and Mirrors
Black Bonnet Stripes
Black 17" Alloys
Cloth/leatherette Black Pearl Carbon Black/Carbon Black Interior
Anthracite Headlining
Colour Line Carbon Black
Chequered Trim
Harman Kardon Audio
Media Pack XL
Variable Damper Control
LED headlights and daytime running lights
Dark Rear Glass
Electric Power Fold Mirrors

I think I'd better stay off the net and out of that bloody dealership until this dream appears, otherwise there's no knowing where all this choice will take me...

Anyway, hope you like the sound of it and didn't mind reading all my nonsense in the big build up!

Happy Happy Happy :D

Congratulations! That's a great spec and I enjoyed the build up. There's only one thing that you should change on your spec though: pepper white. Clearly you haven't seen an F56 in pepper white :).

You are all very kind indeed.
Thank you.
I didn't realise how emotive the colour choice was.
I have alway bought nearly new or ex demo cars.
After 20 years in the Motor Trade as a salesman, I used to think that colour should be the last choice but then that was during a time where I got a new car every three months so it didn't matter what colour I went for as if I didn't like it, I could change at the next demo slot.
Then after selling cars, I thought you had to be mad to buy a new car but that I suppose was because then I couldn't really afford a new car!
So with the last 5 cars all being ex demo or such I concentrated on the spec.
This time round I had to be the one to decide the spec AND the colour but still fit it into budget AND boy, has it proven me wrong on so many accounts.
It has had me thinking about as many variables as I could manage at one time.
What about this spec, what about that colour and those trims, what about the dark glass with that colour, how can I get this that and the other yet still have enough for LED's, H.K and Media!
I both curse and love the Configurator in equal measure!
I am glad I am finally there and please all of you, if you see anymore spec sheets/orders from my pen.
Just ban me.....:eek::eek::eek:

Well, I do't really know where to start.
I have done it again.
I have called the dealer and changed the spec!>:D
Well not really, just added a bit.;)
I figured that at £895 with the Chilli, I would be mad not to go for the Heated Front Screen.
So I did.

I now lay myself at the forums mercy.
Am I allowed to stay....0:)

nice spec & i'm sure it will look great but personally i would never choose a colour purely on how it looks under showroom lighting. you really need to see it outside in normal daylight too.

that said, white silver is a really nice colour

nice to see someone else ordering an auto too

What does the Panel think

I did consider the HUD but the dealer said to get the best out of it I would need Driver Assistance so I could use all of the features. (Not sure if this is true)
That said, the budget is only so big and Variable damping is a bit more on my list esp as I have the leg and back issues so I am reliably informed it will make the car drive very smooth on the Green setting should I need it.
Any road up duck, I am set and happy as a proverbial pig in the poop;)

Thanks for the confidence in the colour, it really did turn my head and that was without the bonnet stripes......

Now trying to decide on BIG Viper stripes or go with the factory bonnets.

What does the panel think?

They were actually putting it in the showroom so I saw it in the sunshine as well as the light from the window.
Very happy with my choice, even if I am the poor relation judging by the polling numbers.....
