Hi all,

I'm currently very close to placing an order for a petrol cooper.

I've never bought new before, and to be honest I'm a bit stuck with spec.

Looking at Volcano with black roof, mirrors and bonnet stripes, chilli pack with black victory spokes, anthracite headlining, visual boost radio and can't remember interior colours.

Now the few £s I could have left, do I go for sunroof or 17s?

My main worry is weight, having seen so many people say the S spokes are really heavy, and that the old panoramic roof is heavy too.

Currently driving a mk4 golf gti, and going from 18s in summer to 15s for winter I also think the smaller wheels might help with the lovely roads up here. :)

Any suggestions (helpful or otherwise) greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Mike.

17s and sunroof will both add weight which is bad for fuel economy, handling & performance.

My advice would be to use the extra £s to fill the blank toggle switch gaps - HUD and Parking sensors.

And had to wrap the fake wood :):

Thanks for the feedback on the weight, might still go with the sunroof, my kids did seem rather keen. Mind you, parking sensors.... might do.

Welcome! I'm a Glasgow gal originally so not a million miles from you! Have you put your order in yet? :)
thanks guys.

no I've not placed the order yet, still not 100% on my spec, and after seeing pics of moonwalk grey on here, colour still up for debate between me and my 2 kids.

the saleswoman I'm dealing with is away racing her mini this weekend too, so no rush.

update time:

Hannah back at work, so placed the order 26th April.

Managed to hold out until roof rails were available, and used the ££s for LED lights instead of sunroof.

Was told build end July for delivery first week of August, so imagine my delight at an email this morning, it's been built, and should be up here by the end of July.

Anybody want to buy a golf?:D
