This is probably not possible, but I'll ask anyway.

I have a 2016 European F54.

I note that the JCW tuning kit is only available in the US :'(

If I were to somehow get hold of the code supplied with a tuning kit, do you think it would be possible to generate an FSC code for my car to apply the JCW mapping?

Or would the fact I have a European VIN prevent it?

And could a US VIN be somehow spoofed to get it working?

This is all just theory at the moment as I'll probably get a Remus exhaust and take it to Lohen or Mulgari for a tune. But I thought I'd ask.

I believe the Tuning Kit is available for your car in Europe - I guessed what model you have to get the following:

So if you can get the code and can get a dealer or specialist to code it, then technically it should work, you wont need to 'spoof' a VIN I believe. However...

From experience, when I was sent the 'wrong' kit by a dealer (it was for the US / Korea), both the dealer here and a specialist and eventually, the supplying dealer - said not to use the kit and to get a European area kit incl software code. Its why I'm now waiting till Aug for the Europe area kit to be produced by BMW.

I've looked through lllparts.

I can only find the tuning kit when selecting USA not Europe.

Well CmdrBond, is it fair to say we expect you to buy?

If so, you can contact lllparts on email to check fitment against your VIN, there are other sites available who will check for you, but I think you'll be stung with import charges between UK and EU if you buy from them.

I will contact lllparts, however I would be interested to know what search you did to find the part, because all the searches I do only lead to specifying US models.

I dont really know how to explain how I did the search, I just looked for the part number for an F54 in 2016 and then checked the part number against my little list of suppliers I have - to find the part price.

Fair enough, I did the search based on country and model.

Ignoring country I can find FOUR kits.

Part numbers are:

11 12 2 445 893
11 12 2 445 894
11 12 2 450 143
11 12 2 450 144

All 4 are listed against all the following models

LN93 - F54, Mini Cooper S Clubman, B46, USA
LU53 - F54, Mini Cooper S All4 Clubman, B46, USA
YT33 - F60, Mini Cooper S Countryman, B46, USA
YT53 - F60, Mini Cooper S All4 Countryman, B46, USA

All dated FROM 11/01/2017 - (I think this is 1st November).

But they're only listed against those models, and interestingly no B48 engines.

Have you thought about searching for the part using your VIN?

I dont think I can add more to help, Monday you can pop LLLparts or Hubaeur an email and ask. I always try to get at least two, and preferably three opinions before I trust them. Even from main dealers and suppliers.

Indeed, and I'm in the process of doing so.

But I always ask the community as well ;)
