In July I'll be relocating from Southern Louisiana to Oregon. I'll be driving my automatic Hardtop MC the 2,600 miles in 4-5 days. I'm looking for advice from the forum about this trip. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Currently: 9562 miles driven since mid October with 33.8mpg efficiency.
- my first checkup will be just before the trip.
- I will wash and wax the car just before leaving.

Are there any things you would recommend for before/during/after the trip to ensure future motoring fun?

Thanks for all the replies so far. They all sound great! I was thinking of doing some sort of video, probably a dashboard time lapse. If I do, I'll definitely post a link.

I'll remember not to overload. I think I'll be taking a few musical instruments in the car, but they should be light enough.
