Hi,

Does anybody has a raspy sound in their cars?
I have a 2014 MCS and it has the AWE Tuning Touring Exhaust and a stock inake. I had the NM intake but i had it switch back to stock. My uncle has a 2006 Audi S4 and he said that he had put holes on underneath his stock intake and it made the sound raspy. So Im wondering if theres anyway that i can make it sound raspy.

Raspy sound is usually a characteristic of engine and exhaust...

I know in the past that the exhaust can have a big influence on the raspy nature of the sound. The JCW Pro exhaust is a raspy sounding exhaust when using full throttle medium/high revs but the characteristic of this raspy sound will differ from other cars e.g. E46 M3 etc..

I would say it's limited what sound characteristics that can be had with a 4 pot engine that is not particularly high revving..

Why would he take an S4 and put holes in an intake? That sounds like a horrible idea!

A catless downpipe should do the trick!

If you've got a resonator on your exhaust or mid pipe, remove that too as that is cancelling out the raspy frequencies most likely.

You've got the Touring Edition which has a resonator and a muffler. Their Track edition only has a resonator. Remove the muffler from your Touring Edition and that should set you up.

I'd like to do that, but i don't have a replacement for the muffler. I don't think they sell just the just that part of the exhaust.
