Hi all


My ex bf's countryman had rear interior lights as well as front (well, they were in the middle of the headlining so directly above the armrest)


I can't find anywhere anything to indicate if the F56 has rear (or centre) interior lights, and if they are mood lighting or just reading lights?


Can any of the existing F56ers shed some light on the matter pls?

I haven't received my car yet, but I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the interior lighting pack that comes with the chilli pack gives you extra lighting for the back. I could be wrong though, so don't shoot me if I am lol

I have no middle or rear interior light, I have the chilli pack and the LEDs in the doors, however I do have a panoramic sunroof, but there is a gap between the two sunroofs.

There is no interior light for the rear seat area. I found that I could not see into the back seat area when getting things out of the car when it was in the garage. Most annoying.

is there one in the middle? or just the front between the visors?


In the USA user guide PDF floating about the internet on page 90 it says:


"Reading lamps are located at the front and rear next to the interior lamps" ... :S

The UK android manual says the same thing... but I just checked my car and while it is beautiful in the dark, there are no lights in the back
There's probably one in the boot...

USA MC model here. I have the sunroof and there is no light in the backseat, just the light in thr front between on the roof in the middle between the visors where the sunroof switch/map lights are. There is a light in the boot as well.

I have found that the F56 manual is really useless. It lists a bunch of stuff in it that is definitely *not* in the US version of the car. I wish they had taken the time to make a US-specific manual. There were a few things I was excited to see on the F56 based on what I read in the manual, and they aren't available here.

Correct, that's without a sunroof.
And yes there is lighting in the boot.

Is that to the left of the main headlight switch? There are two buttons, one above the other, the bottom one is the rear lamps. Works fine on my S

It only works when you're in a European Mini, or if you paid the extra on a North American Mini.

I didn't go for the interior lights package or the excitement pack, so I really miss the footwell lights I had on my previous Mini. Oops. Was trying to avoid having the always on LEDs up top.

Given that the wiring looms are made specifically for each car, retrofitting may not be so easy.

The switch on the dash is just a bump next to
the front foglight switch. I did find out that they're
not standard equipment here. The red lenses in
the rear bumper are just to fill the holes.
