Hi There,
Anyone installed a rear parking camera system on F56 Mini Coop S?
I have the Mini Nav System and also Mini Connected options in the vehicle, and do NOT have the `Park Distance Control`system.
We are looking to see if a rearview parking camera system can play the image through the Mini Nav screen, or will it need a different OEM screen? So two questions -

Q1. Can the PDC option - be retro fitted using Mini Original Parts?
Q2 Are there any other options we can consider using OEM systems, without any Mini Warranty issues? Appreciate your comments.

PDC was dealer retrofittable on the RXX MINIs, I would assume it is possible on the F5X MINIs as well, provided you have the Connected screen

Hi there,
Thanks for your comments. I also would have thought so too ! However, ehe Mini Dealership that I checked with in Oakville, Canada, says it can`t be done as a retrofit ! I am not sure if this might be different for other countries ?

My mini came with a glass window in the back so that I can see where I am going when I park. I am not sure if this is available in Europe.
I'm waiting for the F57 to come out and when it does, judging by the R57 I used to have, even the glass window at the back won't help much. If the car has been driven on wet roads, it won't even be transparent.

For those with F56 rear cameras, can you still see clearly if the back of the car is covered in muck?

Oh, yeah, I forgot. In China, some guy invented a rubber thingy that goes back and forth and wipes the muck off the glass windows we put in the back (and front) of our cars. They only agreed to give them to us if we gave them Richmond, BC. Sshh- don't tell anybody or they won't want cameras on the back of their car anymore.

Yes, clarity is reduced a little bit, but still perfectly usable.

Hi there Uke, Good info and feedback. Please let us know if you decide to go ahead, and the solution you went with. Are you aware that a company in LA USA called TadiBros say thay have a `Vehicle specific` solution for the F56 MCS - but I am not sure this is fully correct?

Yes, the TadiBrothers solution looks nice. I like the integration with the rear view mirror, though I like having the mirror when backing up.

I already have a small TFT monitor I can use for this, so my cost out the door would be about $60 versus $279 (plus shipping).

I'm happy with my rear window and wiper.had a mate who had reverse sensors and got too reliant on them when they failed he was reversing into a police car. Oops.
Yeah, I get the sense of having a rear camera on some kind of land yacht like a Cadillac or a Motorhome but on something driver oriented, like a Mini, it seems decadent. I have experienced zero problems backing up my Mini and I am a decrepit old dude with rheumatoid arthritis and a handicap placard.
