Hello I'm a new 2018 Mini Cooper Hardtop owner and I need some help with the lights I just installed.

Hopefully it's a BimmerCode fix? Any help is most appreciated!

Just to clarify, you want them to look like this? this is how my car came from the factory, so wouldn't that be the default setting?.

Yes I want them like yours. But see from the 2nd pic, sorry those are actually my running lights/parking lights. The LED rings don't light up like yours. I'm almost thinking that I have to do the pin swap and coding I have found going from Halogen to UJ led lights?

Hello did you were able to fix it?

I want to change mine to the LED also.
Hello, Yes I completed the job and they look and function great! Included a wire swap, wire tap, and coding but I figured it all out! I did document and recorded multiple videos. I'll gather it all up and post it here.
Also converted the halogen headlights to LED they look sick!

The wire swap is the same that people do for the Union Jack lights, right?

By the way, the car is amazing with the new lights, congratulations

I think the code is the same. It involves moving the 1 wire and sticking it into the 5th empty plug on a 6 pin plug. I am trying to find that thread. The coding is what you need to make the tail lights and break lights act independent of each other.

Okay here is all the info. I hope it helps. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer. Wrote out all the steps and the vid is goes along with it.
Of course Disclaimer: NOT RESPONSIBLE for YOUR CAR. I did this for my own purpose on my 2018 Mini Cooper 2 Door Hardtop.Posting this as a help, to anyone seeking the same results.
I searched for hours, and could not find anything about this light swap. Everything I found was for the union jack swaps. I hope it helps.

That being said shall we begin?!
Mini Light Swap Vid

NOTE: the LED flicker is the vid is do to frame rate. They are solid to the look at.

Step 1
Install lights
Pull the 6-pin wire harness
I had a 6-pin that was only using 5 wires.
Remove the purple clip
Pull the 1 wire and put in into the 5th port in the connector. It was not being used on my car
bimmercode the codes found in Step 1 Links below
This makes the tail lights and brake lights separate and independent from each other

Step 2 (optional)
Replaced all Halogen bulbs with LED bulbs.
Personal preference, like the brightness and sharpness of LEDs.
Tried and tested a bunch of different types and styles.
Liked the lights below

LED Rear Blinker Lights (same as Brake Lights)
Amazon.com: SIRIUSLED KG Series 1156 1141 7506 Super Bright LED Bulb 2835 SMD High Lumen for car Back up Turn Signal Tail Brake Light Pack of 2 (Red): Automotive

Step 3
I used a volt-meter to map out my rear lights
This is what I discovered for my lights (see diagram in vid)
6 pin number starting out from top to bottom with 5th not being used

1 = Brake Light Bottom
2 = Blinker
3 = Negative
4 = Reverse
5 = LED (new lights)
6 = Brake Light Top

Getting power to the bottom brake light via a wire tap from the top brake light.
I bought all the things I needed including the wire taps, connectors, crimping tools
I also bought a 6 pin connector with 6 wires off of ebay.
Pulled a wire from that to create my wire tap.
Links to all that below

Pulled a wire from a 6 pin connector I bought on ebay.
Put a wire tap connector on the end of that wire
Wire tapped the 1 wire on the car. Black and Yellow for me
Plugged the connector into the wire tap
and plugged the pin into the 6 pin wire harness
Bimmercode to tell the car these are all LED bulbs

GOOD TO GO!

Coding part 2
Bimmercode: 1. Rear Brake, 2. Rear Indicators, 3. Rear Adaptive Brake, 4. Tail Lights, ALL to LED, hot and cold monitoring to NON-Active

You're welcome. Yeah it was and it took about a month because I didn't know how to do any of it! Had to wait on parts and tools.
Hello again!

I found a bargain and will buy this tail lights.

Just wondering do you know the exact things you needed to change in Bimmercode? Besides put all to LED and disable monitoring!

Thanks

Hey now!

Yeah from up above link to step 1. You have to know if your car is pre-facelift or not. Mine was pre-facelift so the second link. Scroll down a bit and find the codes after the pics he has. I took a screenshot of the codes I did. Read around that link because if I remember correctly these codes tell the car that the parking and brake lights are different. Probably check out my vid too, because it was more fresh on my mind then! HAHA

BTW my lights still work and look amazing! Good Luck!

Thank you!

Mini is from 10/2017 so it is pre-facelift also, I think.
