Hi, I'm looking at doing this.

I phoned a local MINI dealer up who quoted over £500 to supply, fit and code these lights! I obviously won't be doing this but the guy mentioned about having to swap some pins around on the wiring.

Was this the case with you when you fitted yours?

Thanks
Luckily not - if you've got LED front lights (which I have) then there is no need to change any of the wiring.

Yea, I'm in no rush for them as they're an early birthday present to myself but just bought them now to secure the good price!

I'll offset the cost further by selling my current pre-LCI lights when these are fitted like I have done with most parts I've replaced on my MINI!

Have you got the Bimmercode settings that need changing in English or will they show up as German when I connect to my car?

Bimmercode is in English

When connected to the car you want to change all rear light bulbs from Halogen to LED (except reverse as this is still a bulb) and switch all cold and warm monitoring from Active to Not Active.

The standard rear lights aren't worth much used so it makes sense to keep them and swap back when you sell the car - you'll get more for the UJ lights used

I see everyone on the Thread is from UK. Is there anyway to ship the Union Jack lights from the US? I only find links shipping from UK.

Hi there,

I got mine a week ago (bought from eBay) and I didn't need to fiddle with wires. This depends on what model you have I believe. I just needed to code a few things which was easy finding the info on the web.

Thanks,

Mark
Hi Sorry if has been covered before as new to my F56 JCW - looking to replace with UJ rear lights - what did you use to recode - software for phone? Interface box? - thank you for any info :)

I'm yet to install mine but I've done the research and you need the Bimmercode app and a compatible OBD reader. The Bimmercode website has a list of compatible readers and this is the one I'm looking to buy below. People use other readers which are cheaper and seem to work but personally I'm going to stick with this one as it's on the compatible list and given what it is you're doing, I don't want to take any risks buying something not officially listed!

That's the adapter i have and it works with my android phone (y)
You'll then need to download the Bimmercode ap (free) but to make changes you have to buy the full version which lasts a lifetime unlike others which is a monthly fee, Bimmercode full version costs £31

If you want OEM, a Mini dealership will be able to order them for you.

If you don't mind aftermarket, AliExpress is the main outlet Chinese manufacturers use to sell direct to consumers. You can save $$$ but research the seller and product well before you part with any of your hard-earned.

Now Just looking at which one to get. There are 3 options - the regular red, Transparent, or Grey. I can't make my mind up.
I have the transparent lights installed on my 2017 JCW White Silver. They blend well and standout at the same time. I think you would really like the look. I'll dig up a picture and post it.

Can you please get a chance to post that Photo. I want to order soon! I’m between the original red and the transparent.

Thanks!
