Hi,

I’ve Googled this but can’t find a definitive answer, so I’m hoping you can help.

I’m following MINI’s instructions on removing the headlights - but I can’t remove the screws. They simply keep turning and the access makes it difficult to drill the head off the screw.

Has anyone managed to get around this, please?

Thanks

There is a nut behind it which is caged in a bracket, the purpose of this bracket is to hold the nut in position. But the bolts are very rust sensitive and the bracket can’t hold the nut. It start turning with the bolt.

you have to hold the nut and bracket with pliers. After this dreadfull job squeez tha bracket back in shape and reinstall the bolts with some grease.

regards, Adam

...one more thing: It’s easy enough to grab the upper bolt - but what about the ones lower down? I’m not sure I can get anything behind there to hold the bolt steady. Grateful for any suggestions!
