I had a little scrape in a parking structure last night (very minor) and ended up damaging the reflector/light in the rear wheel well and scratched the rear bumper up a bit as well. The three grey spots are where the paint came off and they are all about nickel sized or smaller.

What's my best bet to fix this? A complete new rear bumper assembly, or is it easy enough to do with a tiny bit of touch up paint?

I found the arch light at Mini Mania for $35. Seems like a no brainer to order one of those. Does anybody know if I have to take the whole arch trim off in order to install the new arch light?

I've been driving Minis for over 10 years and this is my first time dealing with any damage like this. I am really sad about it right now. :(

I am sorry to hear that and feel your pain as I had my F55 (EB!) rear ended (minor) about a month ago. Accidents happen. Fix them, move on and enjoy the ride!

The arch trim actually just pops off. Best to get yourself a plastic panel puller. Then you disconnect the arch light, pop it out, clean up the contact surface, and lay in your new light that has the adhesive on it.

Any idea roughly what I might expect to pay?

Would it be cost prohibitive to have my mini dealer so it?

Which part?

The arch light replacement or the body work?

It might be cost prohibitive for that minor amount of work, but you'll have to get a quote.

Either. I might at least ask them.
The arch light is DIY and very easy. It took me all of 15-30 minutes. Get a plastic panel puller (I'm assuming you can find them at autozone, o'reileys, advanced, etc.) Save your money for the bumper. Or maybe they'll do the light when they do your bumper (but it's always fun to know your car). If you are worried about breaking the clips, go pick up a few from the dealer and have em on hand.

any idea how much a new rear black arch would cost ? I scraped mine when I backed up and my plastic garbage bin scraped my black plastic rear arch. Sad...Thank goodness it wasn't the paint.

Today I parked my car as usual in the pretty open parking spot and went with my friend to the park. After coming back, I saw that left rear door, wheel arch plastic cover, deeper scratch on the body(above that plastic) and rear bumper are scraped! Kind of sad as my car is or was in perfect shape. Lady left a note on the window... I know things can happen but I am afraid that inside panels/trim might need to be removed to access the metal and straighten it. Hope body shop does a good job at removing and installing all parts even the ones we don't see from outside.
