I ordered my car here in California on August 31, 2014. For us USA owners who can track the progress on the MINI's websites Owner Lounge it's status went to "scheduled for production" on September 10, 2014.

Do you know how long it stays in this stage? I know the factory is closing September 22nd to October 5th, so don't know if my car will be held up or will get built before then.

Does the production take days, weeks? What has your experience been?

MiniGirl,

Congrats! My MINI was in Scheduled for Production approx Aug 5th...it then moved pretty quickly through the production stages and was "Released to a carrier" on August 13th.
I called MINI at 1-866-275-6464 (use your production number or VIN) just about every day to hear what stage it was in. Really cool!

This website helped me understand the stages, too.

MINIGirl,

As I understand....a few of the MINI models are being held until the USA EPA (Enviormental Propections Agency) hold is released. There are a few threads on here that provide more detail but in a nut shell...those effected 2015 models cannot be released to the dealers until the EPA test are run. The tenetive release date (from MINI) is Oct 1st. There is a gentleman on here that seems to know more details that the test was to be run on the 16th and results approx 21st. We shall see.

My car was built in August and recieved at the port in Balitmore on Sep 2...and there it sits until this is resolved. Just waiting.....

When I spoke to MINI they recommended that I ask my deal for more information - - makes sense becuase this issue is on the USA EPA side as well as MINI. It is all good. These test are necessary.
