Afternoon all, I’m after a bit of advice. I’ve had my CooperS since Nov 18. Im approaching service date and the car says 1500 miles left. I’m currently at 14,500 miles and it’s also saying that I need to replace the rear brake pads at the same time. I have done some searching on the site and most recent threads I can find are quite a way back. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem recently? MINI are quoting over £440 for everything done which seems ludicrous. A MINI specialist in the area has quoted £205 which includes OEM parts and service registered with reset etc.
Has anyone had any issues with not going to MINI for a service when on PCP? Thanks in advance!

You are fine as long as they use oem parts. Your warranty will remain intact. MINI may well give you less at trade in time because they haven’t serviced it.

I get routine servicing done at MINI, and everything else done at a specialist. On my last F56, my rear brake pads lasted until 30k. Fronts went at 18k. It’s unusual for you to need rear pads so soon.

Thanks mate. Those prices are ridiculous for oil, filter and pads. I’ve read up that cruise control can reduce the life of your pads. I do roughly 30 miles 5 times a week on smart motorways so use it often. I can’t see it knocking half of their life off though :(
