Hi,

Over the past couple of months my cars clutch pedal has developed a squeak when reaching a certain point in its travel.

Could this be a simple case of needing some oil/grease down there or is there possibly a bigger problem?

For your information my car also suffers from the 'squeal' occasionally found after revving high in the gears - Mini have no idea what the problem is after several times taking it in!

Cheers

My wife's 2015 Hardtop has (had?) this issue. 2 separate trips to the dealer with a loaner each time.

Of course, the clutch NEVER squeaked while in the dealer's possession. But we both heard it, when either of us drove.

After the last dealer trip--they had our car for 5 days--no squeaking. Shop manager told us we're not the first to report the issue, & that after a 2nd grease job on the clutch/components, if the squeak came back--they'd replace the trans/clutch completely.

That was mid-November. No clutch squeaks since then. We're both surprised.

Thanks for the info. I'll try get it booked in asap.

UPDATE:

As it turned out, when my better half brought her F56 in for her 10k mile maintenance, the squeaky clutch had RETURNED. She made mention of it when she brought it in, that the squeaking had returned about a month previous; so the dealership kept her MINI for an extra day and discovered the problem…as it turned out it was NOT the clutch pedal or the assembly at all:

It was the driver's seat.

The dealer made it sound like they did some pretty extensive testing, for which I'm glad. Don't know how they figured out it was the driver's seat, but…ok. We're told all the proper adjustments were made to the driver's seat (?????), and sure enough…since then, she tells me no squeaks. It's been 2-3 weeks or so.

I can't honestly say I would've thought to check the driver's seat. It definitely sounded like the pedal or the assembly or something. But hey--if the clutch stops squeaking with every press from now on, it's fine with me.
