Just a note, while I would think most will be using mp3, (or mp4) audio formats -- I'm curious what other formats are, in fact supported.

I'm not an audiophile, so not wanting to get into which formats are 'better', etc. However, I am an open-source buf, and after loading a few mp3s, the next files I tried to load/play from a USB stick where in Ogg Vorbis (.ogg) format -- no joy there

Therefore, so far I know:
mp3 - yes
ogg - no

others?

The following file formats play on my media XL (8.8" screen) with visual radio boost (non-HK):


AAC (*.m4a) @ 320kbps
AIFF @ 48kHz 16-bit
MP3 @ 320kbps
WAV lossless
WMA @ 192kbps
WMA lossless
WMA variable bit rate


Apple lossless didn't work for me.

Regarding video codecs, I tried the following which worked:

H264
DivX

And this one that did not work:

I can also confirm lossless FLAC at 96/24 works! Very impressed

I think FLAC only works with XL, but I've love if someone could tell me otherwise. I've never tested it on a non-XL.

Can confirm FLAC (including 24/96 FLAC) plays fine on my 2015 with Visual Boost

I can confirm that FLAC does not work on the base radio.
