Hi everyone

I have ordered a Mini One (petrol) but haven't actually test driven one. I've test driven the Mini Cooper which was AMAZING!!! Was wondering if anyone has driven the Mini One and could tell me what it's like?

I've read all the reviews from Whatcar, Autocar etc and they have praised it. Seems to be very few reviews of the 1.2 engine compared to the Cooper though. I hope it's quite nippy still!

Would of gone for a Cooper engine but as I've just turned 20, I'd thought I'd keep my insurance down :(

Many thanks!

i test drove a ONE and was very impressed
don't know how it compares with the 1.5 but the twin turbo 1.2 is very willing to rev and goes really well
that's why i decided to go for the one

I also had a test drive in a MINI One and I was more impressed than I expected. I would be happy to own the 1.2 manual. I found its not at all lacking in acceleration at speeds up to 60 mph (not sure if I hit 70 but probably did) but as I always intended to get the Cooper thats the car I ordered.

The One is a great car and I doubt I would really notice the difference for most of the type of driving I do.

I have only test driven a Mini one but that was enough for me to decide to get it, the engine is great. The cooper doesn't offer much extra kit for the price other than the bigger engine and alloys really. Its personal preference but I decided to save money by going for the mini one and use it to buy extras that I wouldn't be able to afford to add to the cooper.

Thank you everyone for your replies! Really helpful. Can't believe I purchased a car without even driving the engine lol. But have been told that there isn't much difference. Just need enough power to overtake all the slow drivers, ugh!! Was worth spending more money on options I think :)

Well last night a mini one pulled out of a petrol garage in front of us and put their foot down. I thought it was a cooper until we caught it up at the traffic lights! I was impressed. Hubby not so much in his Jag!

I'm getting so excited! My countdown says 18 days left until the third week in September!!! :D My dealer hasn't given me an update for about a week or given me the VIN number. Do you think I should ask him? I feel bad for having to email him loads of times.
