I bought three trays (perfect fit) for the luggage area/indent (LMAO), less than $5.00 each, and a cover for the back area, (PepBoys $20.00)

It's nice to see another musician, MINI owner. Why not fold the rear seats down for the 12string? My back seats stay folded down permanently due to hauling percussion equipment. I'll have to remember to snap a photo next time I carry my drum set. I can fit a 4 piece drum set, all hardware, and cymbals in the MINI. This has been a great help, since most of my gigs are in the New Orleans area and I live 45mins away.My car came from the dealer with both carpet and rubber mats. I picked up the Mini logo accessory cargo tray/mat later and it was well worth it.
I also bought the Speedwell blue cargo blanket to protect the back from my guitars and amps etc. but I find it so hard to fit my big 12 string case in there that I usually take our truck.
Mini is still good for ukulele gigs though as that gear fits perfectly!![]()
I like the cool tonneau cover look of the Speedwell draped between the seat, so I keep them up. I can barely carry my 12 due to the wreckage of a stomach I have from having had a Whipple surgery (same as Steve Jobs) earlier this year. I just find it easier to load the truck. I promised myself that I would buy the Mini as a reward for surviving a surgery that about 60% of people don't surviveIt's nice to see another musician, MINI owner. The Mini really appeals to the artist in me. Getting to choose from so many options makes me feel like my Mini is a personal expression. There are other cars that function just as well but they leave me artistically "blah".It's nice to see another musician, MINI owner. Cheers Mark - many thanks. Will do a shop sometime after the christmas rush.http://www.minif56.com/forum/289-mini-f56-general-discussion/17146-really-useful-box-boot.html
You can buy these in office supply, homewares or craft supply places.
I bought the MINI brand tray. It was expensive, but good quality. I also got the MINI brand rubber mats.
I had envisioned going on a shopping spree when picking up my new car that I waited 10 weeks for. But unfortunately, there are really not that many accessories to buy.
I'm not interested in changing the appearance of the car.
I would assume the space under the rear seats would not look very nice or finished.Anyone taken the back seats out?
Yes. but it could be finished to look decent enough to carry a jack and a spare wheel/tire - when I have worn the run-flat tires out. Then it could have a cover made for the whole area. I don't plan carrying any passengers anyway.I would assume the space under the rear seats would not look very nice or finished.
I've been wanting to do this myself. Anyone have ideas about what the weight reduction might save you in fuel consumption?Anyone taken the back seats out?
