I returned from a rear brakes service at MINI with my car seemingly altered software-wise.

I had asked for an firmware upgrade on the infotainment system but he said I was up-to-date "as long as i'm not having bluetooth issues".

I then get my car and my settings have been wiped (ambient lighting, notification, mode, display settings etc.), not really an issue as it's 2 minutes to change it all back, but the weird thing is now when I turn on the engine, it revs, blips the throttle as though it's pretending to be a supercar starting up. Obviously my foot is on the brake whilst this is happening.

Start-Stop Button -> REVVV!...idle

instead of:

Start-Stop Button -> Idle


Do any of you have this on your cars? How can they have changed this, would it need ECU flash to change this behaviour, not infotainment?

I have the JCW Exhaust & Tuning Kit, so hopefully they haven't wiped my power increase, or maybe they forgot to add it until now.

My 2016 JCW has always done this.

That's weird...my 2015 JCW has never done that. Honestly, that would bother me a bit as reving the engine when cold is not something I ever do.

My mum's manual JCW always does this, I hear it every morning... Mine doesn't do it but mines diesel.
