Hi all, brand new to this but have been an avid reader since ordering an F55 MCS last month, particularly in relation to the phone connectivity and audio experience. Some fab advice and reviews so thank you.......but I am no techie!
I will list my "stuff" to help with any answers:
Chili pack
Visual Boost
Nav (not XL)

I have a Samsung Galaxy A3 which is not compatible with the usb mini connectivity according to my VIN search.
The below is on the basis that I will not use the mini connected app.......

So as I think I understand it.......if I plug my phone into the usb all that will happen is that my phone will charge?
I can take calls and listen to music (downloads on phone and Deezer app) via bluetooth?
I can plug phone into "aux" to do same as above?
Steering wheel controls will be useless unless I use a usb drive with music pre loaded (MP3) or use aux?

Folks I hope I have made some sense!
Just going picking kids up so will check back in later.......not being rude!
Thanks again:nerd:

Welcome!

I probably can't answer your questions, sorry.

I have no interest in using my phone for music. However, I have a USB stick with about 100 albums loaded on it permanently connected and it works brilliantly. You also have a fantastic range of digital radio available to you.

Your Galaxy A3 will probably work fine over USB or Bluetooth. I obviously don't have your VIN but did a quick check for F55 on the Mini Compatibility site and it simply didn't list your phone, this doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, just that Mini haven't tested it.

My phone isn't listed either yet works just fine with over USB or bluetooth and my friends phone (also nowhere to be found on the compatibility checker) runs the same version of Android as your Samsung apparently does (4.4) and that plays fine with my Mini over USB with full track titles, steering wheel controls etc. :)

Hi minimanf56s.....thanks for the reply......I probably just need to sit back and wait for her to arrive then have a play.
Was told that it has been built and is at the mini centre awaiting transporter up north, wherever the mini centre is!?

Not that I will get anywhere near the car......Er indoors has made that perfectly clear!

Hi Rowlster i have a samsung galaxy s4 mini; never bother connecting it via cable as the bluetooth is so good-i have media xl and it connects fine, downloads and reads text messages to me and spotify works perfectly via blutooth streaming; and the steering wheel controls move between tracks in an album or playlist BUT not between two playlists or albums-needless to say i am VERY impressed and very happy with my car built Aug 14!
Enjoy

Hi J thanks for the reply......that reassures me. I am probably over thinking it anyway as is normally the case when the car is about to arrive!
I didn't take too much notice about the entertainment when I test drove the car cos I was enjoying the drive too much!

No probs, am guessing by 'the mini centre' they mean the factory in which case that's in Oxford: MINI Plant Oxford

Hopefully won't take too much longer to reach you! :)
