I will take delivery of my new MCSD in March .


I have a small microcar - total weight 220kgs which goes to shows in the summer, previously towed by my R56 Cooper D.


Does anyone know of any aftermarket suppliers who could fabricate a towbar to fit the SD.


I understand MINI do not approve a towbar, have difficulty believing I'm the only one who wants one.


Any ideas guys ?

It's been illegal for companies to fit a towbar to an unapproved car for about 20 years, so you are going to have a hard time finding anyone to do it.

Your best bet would be to ship a 'hitch' (ie, towbar) over from the US where they don't have such restrictions.

Of course, if you have an accident while towing with an unapproved towbar, I think you can kiss your insurance goodbye.

Even if MINI did have towbars for the F55/6 range it would still be impossible to fit one to either S or SD models due to the centre exhaust.
