Hi All,

After some help if possible. I've just purchased a set of OZ Ultraleggeras, I need to have TPMS sensors fitted given I'm taking off my 18' JCW wheels.

Has anyone fitted aftermarket TPMS sensors or do I need to stick with OEM to ensure it works with the system?

Many thanks,

G

You can swap the sensors from your old wheel to the new ones

Many owners have used aftermartket ones off ebay with no problems, check the sellers feedback to see if anyone complained they don't work as there are a lot of cheap copies about

agree with above, old sensors can be removed and re fitted to new wheels, but you may need the refurbishing kit which contains a new seal, they are about £5.99 each of fleabay.

Just don't get them from MINI, they are about 2.5x more expensive! Post some pics of the new wheels on your car :)

Hi guys, Bringing up old thread about TPMS. Need little help! I bought brand-new OEM TPMS sensors for my Mini Cooper clubman JCW my18 and was wondering can any tyre shop fit them for me or I have to go to my Mini garage to fit them on my tyres? I have RFT monitor system on my screen and already coded to view tyres pressure. Is that the only thing I need to do?

Any tyre place can fit them, they just fit to the tyre valve. They should automatically register with the car, there is no setup.

Hi mate,

Is my screen correct ready to read when the TPMS installed?
When they're installed in the wheel you'll need to press reset for the pressures then go for a drive while it works out the pressures - this can take 10 mins of driving. You'll see the progress from 0% up until 100% then they're done.

Hello there and thank you for your reply.
Just a quick Qs as I’m new to this is, do you mean reset on the sensors or inside my car head unit? Below says tyre settings! Is that what you mean?

Go left in the menu there is an option to reset or activate the system. Ignition on but no engine running I think else option is greyed out. Then it says drive off. You may need engine on tho, cant remember off hand!

Hi guys I’m back again here!! I just got my TPMS sensors fitted at a tyre specialist for my Mini Cooper clubman John Cooper my18 and did everything what my display says and still can’t get my pressure displayed. Not sure what else I need to do but this what happens when I do the resetting prompts. Is there anything else I need to do or activate on BimmerCode to register??

Usually all you would have to do after the message you have a picture of is to drive for 15 mins or so. You would normally see a progress bar with 0%-100% telling how close the reset is to completing.

Did that and I don’t see the progress bar!! Weird.

you think it has something to do with Runflat tyre monitor system? Maybe I have to turn it off somewhere though BimmerCode? Or is there other steps to show my tyre pressure?
I’m going crazy lol!

From the photo it looks like you pressed to start the reset and haven't moved off (still on forecourt?)

The message (different to mine) says it's resetting so you should start driving and it'll work out the pressure as you drive along, can take 10-15 mins of driving before it reaches 100% reset

I haven’t tried it since last night as I’m at work until this afternoon Sydney time. Do you guys think I’m missing something in my Mini like a receiver? If I did then why do I have all the options on my screen like many here you have the same like me and works for them but not for me.
I’m pretty sure mine has the receiver as my Mini is a Clubman f54 John Cooper Works my18 2ltr turbo.
Do I need to go to Mini garage dealer and ask why isn’t it working something like that!!
Frustrating it is!!

Seen lots of other sites discussing the disabling of TPMS (mostly for track days) and also seen some coding for displaying temp and pressure or nothing in the head unit. Have a look at these and see if they help.

Temp coding doesn't work on newer ones but I don't remember when it stopped. LCI maybe?
