Hi all, got a cooper S. has anyone noticed a huge power spike at 4000rpm after fitting a TMC or similar tuning box?

It's enough to spin the wheels in 3rd on a damp road.

I've seen someone else experience the same but that's on a 1.5T not a 2.0T

Perhaps it's your turbo boosting at higher RPM.

That's what I thought, but it's not a subtle kick, i would have guessed that the turbo would run out of puf higher up the revs just as it did as standard, but it would seem that the standard wastegate setting is stopping the turbo from really getting going hence the now apparently power spike.

Out of interest what setting do you have the box on? I found that on my JCW the power was a lot smoother on No.4 than it was on No.6 which is what they are normally on.
